Mentor, teacher, cinematographer
At the Cinematography Department, Michael Gahut teaches Camera Technique Seminars at our program for international students. They are taught how to use various types of camera and also receive a theoretical basis for work with the camera as a tool for film language.
A professional filmmaker since the mid-seventies, Michael Gahut works as a Director of Photography on feature films, TV dramas, and documentaries, and also as a Director and Cinematographer for TV commercials. A FAMU graduate, Michael Gahut has been a professor at the school since the eighties, and in recent years has served as mentor and course director for APP and CDM programs and for FAMU exchange programs NYU and Emerson College.
